MEET THE DOCTORS
Jeffrey D. Bunn D.V.M. Dr. Bunn is a 1990 graduate of Michigan State Universitys College of Veterinary Medicine. He has been an assistant adjunct professor for MSUs CVM since 1999. He established Equine Medical L.L.C. in 1995 to provide exceptional equine health care. He has a special interest in surgery, performance horse lameness, corrective shoeing for the laminitic horse and dentistry. When he is not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Bunn enjoys competing as a calf roper. Dr. Bunn traveled all the way to Fort Collins, Colorado to attend an in-depth conference on lameness this year. While it seems as though all of the top experts were there to present various lameness updates, Dr. Bunn learned that the tried and true method of eliminating pain through diagnostic nerve blocks is still the secret to success. All of the latest and greatest technology is useless without a thorough physical exam. Our facility is always available for lameness workshops.
Stephanie S. Rubie D.V.M. Dr. Rubie graduated from MSU in 1994 and became Dr. Bunns partner in 1997. She is a lifelong resident of the Grand Rapids area, where she actively showed hunters as a youth rider. She enjoys the reproduction aspect of veterinary medicine and has recently become involved with embryo transfers. Dr. Rubie attended the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute's Blue Grass Symposium on Equine Reproduction in Lexington, Kentucky. She also has been honing her embryo transfer skills and is looking forward to a busy Spring in 2008. Do you have questions about these topics? Dr. Rubie is available for consultation.
Associate Dr. Shaarda has continued his work and education in Bowen Therapy. For those who missed his presentation at last year's seminar, Bowen Therapy is a deep muscle manipulation targeting strategic acupressure points. He has successfully completed the second portion of Bowen Therapy education and also has quite a few case studies completed. Dr. Shaarda would be happy to answer specific questions about Bowen Therapy and the benefits it may have for your horse. |
